Psychoeducational Assessment

Psychoeducational assessments are able to be conducted for students in elementary school through college.  These assessments help to determine the student's strengths and weaknesses within their educational profile, and determine if the student has issues that negatively impact learning.  Based on the results of the psychoeducational assessments, the psychologist can make recommendations to support the student, parents, and school in assisting the student as he/she strives to reach his/her full potential.

A psychoeducational assessment battery may be sought for a student who is having difficulty in school, or for students attempting to enter a school which requires testing prior to granting a student acceptance.  Seeking assessment through a private psychologist allows the student and family to choose who receives the assessment results.

The assessment process typically proceeds along the following course:  consultation, clinical interview, testing, report writing, feedback session.  The length of time required for this process can vary based upon the types of tests and the number of tests utilized, as well as the amount of information to record and synthesize.  Tests are chosen based on the individual needs of the client.
